This particular Narcissus, from which Jonquil Absolute Oil is extracted, is cultivated in France exclusively for the traditional perfume industry and the absolute oil very rarely enters the markeplace for the public to buy as it snapped up by the high end perfume industry, usually before the crop is even harvested. It takes around 2500 kilos of hand picked freshly harvested flowers to produce 1 kilo of the absolute so it is not hard to imagine why it is so expensive, so highly prized, and so desired. It is very rare indeed.
Traditional Uses for Jonquil Absolute Oil:-
It is almost entirely and exclusively used for the traditional and natural perfume industry where it highly prized, much sought after and rarely obtained. We really cannot impress how extremely rare it is to find this oil available for public sale..
History:-
Really rare and hard to find and very rarely used in the modern designer perfume industry nowadays but still sought and highly prized by the most traditional perfume houses. Narcissus jonquila is an extremely fragrant narcissus species which, it is thought, probably originated in Mesopotamia and it is now cultivated in southern France and, in particular, Morocco for the purpose of extracting the Absolute oil for perfume.
