The fruit of Amomum kravanh known in China as Bai Dou Kou is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is grown all over SE Asia although primarily in many provinces of China.

It is principally and traditionally used in the aid to digestion and help with congestion. In CTM it is used to strengthen the immune system and is considered a tonic, It has a characteristic aroma and flavour but nothing like the green or black cardamom to which family of plants it belongs
